CAEPLA Workshop Series

CAEPLA Workshop Series

It’s summer!

What better time for a road trip with family and friends?

And what better destination than the CAEPLA Workshop Series?

In the next CAEPLA Workshop we want to take you even deeper behind the scenes. We’re going on a field trip.

This time we will give you a rare glimpse of the ‘brains’ behind the operation: A tour of the Control Centre and facilities at Cromer and Kerrobert.

It’s a natural progression from previous presentations. But you don’t have to have seen our earlier events to benefit from this one – so feel free to come on down and bring friends and family along for another fun and informative field trip.

You’ll find out firsthand how it all happens – live, in real time.

The team from Enbridge will pull back the curtain to reveal how the millions of barrels of crude, dilbit, snybit and more, daily flow from Alberta’s Oil Sands to refineries in the U.S. through the pipes under your farm.

This is a side of pipeline operations that landowners have not seen before.

Heck, 99% of Canadians have never seen this before.

As always, the CAEPLA and Enbridge teams will be on hand to answer any and all questions you may have top of mind, in a relaxed fashion.

Enbridge will be springing for a quality catered meal. And then there’s the draw for cash prizes – you could win one of five $100 gift cards!

Before lunch we will board the bus for a tour of the Cromer facility in Manitoba for the Cromer event and the Kerrobert facility in Saskatchewan for the Kerrobert event. Enbridge will escort you behind secure gates to see the operations of the tank farm.

(Security and your safety is of utmost importance. Therefore, all landowners participating in the tour will need to be on the bus).

After the tour we will return to Cromer / Kerrobert for a great meal, refreshments and an update from CAEPLA’s own Dave Core.

After a busy spring, take a break to network with other pipeline landowners and add value to your “pipeline farm” by increasing your knowledge of what flows beneath your feet.

We look forward to seeing you there.

How is a complex pipeline system controlled?  What does the Enbridge Control Centre do?

Please join us to learn how Enbridge monitors the entire pipeline network around the clock, using specially trained staff and multiple computerized systems, to keep the environment, landowners and communities safe.

The Control Centre experts will be on hand to explain how various monitoring systems analyze pressure, temperature, and other important information from thousands of points all the way along our pipelines and in the facilities.

This presentation will help you understand how each of these systems has a different focus and uses different technology, resources, and timing in order to provide industry leading leak detection capabilities.
