Are Cubans about to have their property rights recognized?

We'll believe it when we see it.

But at present Canada's laws regarding property are textbook communist:  any land can be taken by government in the name of "the greater good," and even for the benefit of privately held corporations.

In other words land theft and redistribution in Canada is legal.

Even the "compensation" offered to landowners who are the victims of government expropriation is itself expropriated in the form of taxes from other Canadians.

It would be embarrassing but not surprising if Communist Cuba winds up with stronger property rights than Canada does.
